Sun 30th Nov. Hello, today have been given a donkey, Mary and Joseph and I am enjoying myself already and I bet I'm going to have a great time and thank you! thank you! thank you!
Our trip to school with Mary, Joseph and the donkey. today I took a picture of my baby cousin and Mary and Joseph and the donkey and why my cousin wasn't smiling because she is not well. At school I took a picture of my friends and they thought that they were going to be in the newspaper and I really enjoyed my time with Mary and Joseph and the donkey. My teacher thought it was a great idea.
2 December. With Trusty the dog in the park. A poem... Each day at dawn I lift my heart high and rise up my eyes to the infinite sky I sit to pray and knowing I feel the Lord with me so sometimes theres not much for me to say softly in his silence God grants you and me the peace and love that each of us seek.
Today I took a picture of Mary and Joseph by my cat. Mary was on the donkey and Joseph was beside her. It was to show that they were on a journey and that they saw lots of sights! I really enjoyed having Mary and Joseph and I hope the next person who has it has the same amount of fun as me!
K is three and a half years old. She put Mary and Joseph on the donkey's back and wanted to take pictures with the camera. I explained who Mary and Joseph were. I told her it would be Jesus's birthday on Christmas day. She listened. We took a picture of Mary and Joseph. She thought they were good
My 18 month old son E really enjoyed running around the house holding donkey and shouting Eeeh-Aw!
Mary, Joseph and the donkey joined us at a soft play centre and then the supermarket. They stayed at home when E went to the doctors with a high temperature. Mary and Joseph made Grandma, Grandad and their dog welcome. No one slept very well because E had a restless night due to his cold. Mary and Joseph may be very tired on the next part of their journey!
Today Mary, Joseph and the donkey visited E, G and their mum and dad. E is 4 and G is 18 months. We have taken Mary and Joseph to Stockport to do some Christmas shopping, We've had a nice dinner and we have shown them our Christmas tree. E has drawn a picture of Mary, Joseph and the donkey in the diary book. They really enjoyed listening to the Christmas story.
Joseph, Mary and their donkey came to our house on a frosty Sunday. Since everyone is poorly with coughs and colds we didn't leave our house but we did play outside in the garden and we made a path for Joseph and Mary and the donkey with frosty leaves. At nightime we found a box and put "hay" in it for them to keep warm through the night before they begin their journey again.
Thanks for sharing Joseph, Mary and their donkey. B (2yrs 2months), D (5 months)
Today Mary, Joseph and the donkey went to Chapel Street park to have their photo taken for the South Manchester Reporter. They then went and had their photos taken at the library van and at the village stores. Mary looked through the books and wondered if anyone would want to write a book about her child?
They are resting this afternoon. Mary being an ordinary girl is surprised at the attention she is getting. Will news of her baby's birth reach any further? Will they hear about it as far away as... Cheshire?
Today Mary, Joseph and donkey spent the day with G (2 years old) and her mummy. They were pleased to meet members of G's dolls house family so they had a cup of tea with them. The donkey had a nap but poor Mary and Joseph were made to do some housework! They didn't seem to mind though. Next we took them on a number 50 bus to Parrs Wood where we visited the soft play centre and they particularly enjoyed the ball pit. Time for packed lunch in costa coffee at Tescos- G fed the donkey carrot and hummus. We headed back to wait for the plumber to arrive and Mary, Joseph and the donkey helped us make a Christmas crown and generally did alot of sticking, painting and colouring. After tea, Mary and Joseph relaxed whilst donkey went upstairs for bathtime and had his teeth brushed. We've had a lovely day. Thanks for the chance to meet them. G has called the donkey Graham (as he's grey) and says that on Christmas day it will actually be Jesus' birthday, but also Mary, Joseph and the donkey's birthday too! we hope they enjoy the rest of their tour of South Manchester.
They arrived at night in the frost and we put them under the tree and E put an angel, a baby Jesus and a porcelain kitten around them. They look all cosy. Thank you for your secial visit. xxx
We met Mary and Joseph at Toddler group, then later they accompanied us around Levenshulme - to the butchers, the chemist and to the garage. We think they enjoyed having a ride in the buggy and giving poor old donkey a rest! At night we tucked them in with lots of blankets.
We really enjoyed looking after Mary and Joseph and helping them on their journey.
My name is M and I'm 16 mnths old. I loved the Mary and Joseph visit and have played with them for hours, taking them around the house. I took them to the park with my daddy and when we needed a rest we all sat down on a bench; donkey too. They met my other friends and had cake in their house, daddy took a picture for our memories and then we read about the journey in the local newspaper.
The family arrived, so the house they came to was a little crazy as it was lunch time and H's aunt and uncle were visiting Manchester and popped in as we arrived.
We had lunch which we were glad of and the little donkey got a drink as well. After lunch C+H went to visit their friends. We went to a coffee shop and had dinner at O+S house and we all jumped into the bath which we were all glad of.
We slept very well and had a proper fried breakfast and now sadly we must move on as the day is getting nearer and we have to journey on to Bethlehem, and I know the baby is arriving soon.
Mary, Joseph and the donkey came to stay with "I" today. They spent the day with "I" and her nan and grandpa. They helped "I" feed the chickens with Grandpa and did some cookery with nanny.
They stayed at home while "I" went to a Christmas party because "I" didn't want them to get lost and thought Mary was looking a bit tired.
When Mary had had her rest they all played by the frozen pond in nanny's garden. When "I" came home everyone had tea and "I" enjoyed hearing all about the family's travels and adventures so far. Thanks for visiting our house.
Mary, Joseph and the donkey arrived early this morning at P+N's house. After some breakfast we all went to P's Christmas play. She was a donkey and Mary and Joseph's donkey were impressed by her singing and dancing. They then had a piccy with some very large sheep in a stable! We came home for Mary to rest whilst mummy tidied up! When P got home from school, Mary, Joseph and the donkey helped P hang the new nativity decorations. Joseph thought it looked familiar! We then had a play when we picked N up from her childminders house. It was then bathtime and then bedtime. We made a comfy bed in a shoe box and Tilly our cat offered donkey her bed. Mary's baby is due very soon. She is getting very top heavy and falling over! It wont be long until their journey is over. We wish them good luck and hope they enjoyed staying as much as we enjoyed having them to stay!
Mary, Joseph and their donkey came to visit us today. We spent most of the day huddled up in one room because our boiler had broken and we trying to keep warm around a small electric heater! Poor Mary and Joseph didn't have heating in their day - imagine trying to stay warm at night in a stable! Later on our heating was mended and we gave the donkey some satsuma for sustenance and we thought he looked quite tired and dirty so we gave him a bath while Mary and Joseph looked on. Mary and Joseph slept in our dolls house, and M+T really enjoyed their visit.
Considering how dusty I get trudging along the road to Bethlehem, I think I've scrubbed up pretty nicely. Must get Joseph to knock up one of those power showers when we get back.
We met Mary and Joseph plus donkey at the toddler group party - What they made of that they kept to themselves! F carried the donkey in his pram just to give him a rest and we caught the bus into Manchester. We took Mary and Joseph to see Father Christmas. He was very happy to see his old friends and he asked if mummy could take a photo of everyone together so he could sent it to his wife Mary who is Mother Christmas!
Father Christmas gave F three racing cars. We wondered if Joseph might like to trade the donkey for one of them but he said he couldn't get petrol for love nor money!
We then went home and Mary and Joseph visited M at her farm house before settling down for a very well earned rest in teddy's craddle all three slept in very late and seem well refreshed for the next stage in their journey.
Thank you for popping by to see us. it was lovely to see you guys and you're very welcome to stay again.
Today Mary, Joseph and the donkey visited J and E's house. R was there too. Everyone liked hearing about their adventures so far.
Mary and Joseph joined in with the advent treasure hunt and the donkey was very interested to meet the prizes (toy tigers). They watched R and E doing some drawing and cutting before eating dinner.
At bedtime, Mary and Joseph visited the dolls house people and were made very welcome for the night, while the donkey slept with E's teddies in her bed.
And they're off...
